I LOVE dollhouses (but oddly, not dolls) but had to give up my attempts to furnish one as a kid as I could never get it perfect enough. Now that I have a daughter, I may have to give it another shot!

I totally agree, Molly. It’s not really fair to give them more clutter (and hence the responsibility for all of it that they just can’t handle). They need very little as far as toys go. Anything else is an unkindness.

lately, i’m really liking the idea of ultra-simplified kid rooms, with just a few (very few) toys. i think it makes it easier for them to keep their rooms tidy, and in turn makes it a more peaceful space. i like this idea of setting them out on the shelf—as much decorative as practical.
